Tag sales yesterday we didn’t get any super finds, but did come home with a car load, mostly housewares. The temps have again soared into the 90’s and will stay there through Tuesday. Fortunately, the nights are dropping into the 60’s, so the house cools down.

Mason jar and Fire King casserole crop July 2019.jpg

I found this clear Ball ½ gallon jar. It had very good zinc lid with the ceramic insert in place and in good condition. The Logo #7 indicates it is from 1936 – 1962 for a clear jar with vertical ribs. I got it for $3 but they are selling for $15 - $23.

I’ve been finding a good amount of the lovely sapphire blue Fire King bakeware. I found this 2 quart casserole for $2. I’ve gotten a decent small collection of Fire King. I may be collecting it, but I use it daily.

1st Fence garden – weeded and planted

Now that I’ve finished the pressing Big garden work, I can start trying to clean out all the flowerbeds. They’ve not been touched since April. I got out at 5:45 Sunday morning and got a couple hours in on the 1st Fence and part of the 2nd Fence gardens before I had to help put up the layers’ snake fence.

I was going out before or at 5:30 but it’s a bit too dark now. I plan to go out every morning I can, as the beds are an awful mess and I’ve got stuff STILL sitting in the cold frame.

The excavator will be back at work tomorrow, making deeper holes….
