Today we have "Perth weather" in Holland. The sky is 100% blue with the sun present all day. My view outside my working space is like this:
I am rushing through my Spanish class homework and get out right afterwards.
But why do I call it Perth weather ?
Well some years ago in 2010 I visited an almost forgotten relative of my wife in Mandurah which lies some 50 miles south of Perth. We pointed at the deep blue skies and the uncle said "Yes, we happen to have a lot of these (days) here in Perth".
Ever since those beautifull days near Perth when we have such a day in the Netherlands we call it a Perth day and think of Bill who in the mean time deceased. So you see a good phrase at the correct moment and people will remember you when you are gone. Bill - his Ozzie name - went to Australia at age 18 and died at age 82. He set up the biggest parcel service in Perth before selling it to a company now part of DHL.
I hope we get a lot of Perth days in 2019 !
