SUMMARY OF GEOMETRY

This part will help you to get a general idea of the geometry of the dome. For those who like to understand everything in detail, I recommend to study spherical geometry.

TERMS

The two main terms necessary for a general view are: frequency and profile.

Frequency

• the amount of fragmentation of the shell of the dome (sphere). The higher this figure, the more the number of triangles in the wire frame and the more rounded is the shape of the dome (sphere). Denoted by the sign of v. 2v, 3v, 4v, 5v .... nv. The number of segments affects: labor costs in production and installation, cutting of sheet materials, glazing dimensions, appearance. Visually, the frequency can be determined by the number of triangles on the line between the centers of the pentagon groups.
  In science, of course, the frequency is correct to call the fragmentation of the original triangle. If you are interested to find out which of the dome triangles is original, you can go through an in-depth study of spherical geometry using the link above.
  To consolidate the understanding, I propose a diagram of the image, the fragmentation of different frequencies.
  

Profile

• in fact, as it is called and that means, the side view, in the profile. Within the framework of this manual, you will find three types: high (high), middle (middle), low (low), and, respectively, H, M, and L. The profile selection determines the height of the structure. If your plans include the creation of a full-fledged second floor under the dome, the options of H and M are right for you.
  Medium profile, only possible at even frequencies 4v, 6v, etc., 2v is used for small diameters, only the average profile is used. In the second frequency 2v, the profile can be expressed as flat and toothed (Flat Top, SawTooth).

In this manual, all calculations for domes of models 777, 888, 999 are presented only in 3v frequency, in low and high profiles.
