1 Human Skull Fragments

On the way returning from a holiday in Cuba, stopped by TSA agents after they spotted what appeared to be human remains inside some wrapped ceramic pottery.

 2 A Dead Body

Two women were arrested at John Lennon airport when it was discovered that they were trying to smuggle 91-year-old, Kurt Jarant on a flight to Berlin. They had placed his body in a wheelchair and attached sunglasses over her empty eyes in an attempt to fool airport security.

3 240 Live Fish

The explosives team were called in to take a look at four bizarre suitcases that were showing abnormalities on the scanning system. When the experts cracked open the case, they found 240 live fish "of all types and sizes" packed in. Further investigations found that the passenger had bought the fish at a local pet store and was trying to take them home, but his plan didn't go too swimmingly.

4 A Boomerang

In America, you can travel with nail clippers, nail files, tweezers, safety razors and a walking stick. But, never a boomerang..

In 2002, a professional boomerang competitor was arrested at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut, when she tried to travel with a dozen boomerangs in her carry on luggage. Security officials were not satisfied that the wooden objects were safe and refused to allow them on the plane!

 5 247 Exotic Snakes

A 51-year-old passenger was forced to open his bags after the X-ray scanner detected the reptiles. As he did so, horrified airport security officials were shocked to see 247 exotic species packed in plastic boxes and even socks!

It is thought that the man was smuggling them as part of a criminal gang who aimed to sell the exotic, and endangered reptiles in other parts of the world.

 6 18 Severed Heads

The heads were en route to a research facility near Chicago. But, their transport was complicated by a glitch in the paperwork. The heads had traveled from Rome to Chicago to be cremated, which is apparently a fairly standard procedure!

  7 A Baby

The family were rejected entry into UAE because the baby did not have a visa. They were told to wait at the airport for two days whilst paperwork for the infant was processed.

However, the father became impatient and decided to try and smuggle the baby through security in a small handbag. The attempt failed and now serves as a reminder on what not to do at the airport!

 8 Samurai Sword

Swords and blades are banned from being transported in carry-on bags. However, they may be carried in checked luggage. So, security officials were dumbfounded when a passenger tried to bring the potentially lethal weapon onto a flight in his hand luggage.

9 A Suicide Vest

In 2016, security officials at Richmond International Airport, Virginia, were horrified to find a suicide vest, two guns and an old military manual on explosive devices inside a suitcase. Explosive experts were immediately called, but they concluded that the frightening objects posed no threat. Bizarrely, all the items were props and plastic replicas.

The passenger explained that he used the haunting items for live-action, role-playing games!

 10 A Loaded Gun

The pistol, complete with six rounds of ammunition, was found during a search of the man's bag after his flight landed in Atlanta from Mexico. Security re-checked his belongings as he checked in for a connecting flight to Florida, which is when they found the loaded firearm.

The passenger stated that he thought he was permitted to bring his gun on the plane as he had a license to carry one (on the ground).

 11 A Bazooka

In 2013, a World War II-era bazooka round was discovered inside a checked bag at Chicago O'Hare Airport. Needless to say, this item raised concerns with security who were not sure as to whether the item was inert, or if it still posed a threat.

The passenger had nonchalantly placed the object on the top of his bag, clearly it was extremely unsafe to carry.

 12 A Live Human Being

In 2015, an 8 year old boy was found inside a suitcase bound for Spain from Morocco.

The boy, from Ivory Coast, was being carried by a 19-year-old woman, who was not related to him. It is thought that she was paid by the boy's father to smuggle the child so that the two could be reunited.

 13 A Dog

The woman had successfully smuggled her dog through security in Israel and was sitting comfortably on the plane which was just about to take off, when another passenger alerted security that there was a dog onboard the five-hour flight. The woman and her dog were swiftly removed from the plane.

 14 A 'Dead' Body

The crusty passenger was only a prop from the 2003 horror film, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and not in fact a rotten passenger.
