Life slaps me in the face once again

in life •  5 years ago

So it seems that when I am finally getting back on track, life slaps me in the face to end up sitting in the ground again.

Three weeks ago, and after 2 years without a car, I could finally borrow 1100€ to buy this used car. I was so happy with it.

Yesterday I was going out and 500m from my house the car spun, went out of the road and flipped over into a river. I was going at 20km/h. There was snow on the road.

@misselectric and I are fine, just a mild headache...

Now, I think I’ll spend another winter at -20 Celsius without car, having to take one of these three buses that take one hour to go to the nearest town in order to buy groceries.

Unless I am able to raise another 1000€ to get a decent car before things get ugly with the temperatures.

Now, I don’t want your compassion. I am making this post to remind me of listening to myself. I should have not succumbed to the temptation of going out, I had work to do, and now these are the consequences.

However, I am lucky that we are fine and that it happened really close to the house and not on the Main Street.

Now to sell it for dirt cheap and start saving again for another car.

Thanks

OMG. I'm glad you're ok. I used to drive something similar to this car and it's actually quite a reliable little thing. Was it a sharp bend with black ice on the road or something? Seems strange.
You're better off tearing it down and selling individual parts. You'll make twice as much money that way, but it may take way longer to sell off.

It was completely bad luck, it would have just gone out of the road into the field, but there was a huge hole where a creek passed and the car just rolled over once after making a 180 degree slide... if there was no big hole, the car would have been perfect and nothing would have happened.

Yeah I need to sell it fast because I need to buy another thing. If I had the money spare, then I’d definitively sell it by parts.

What is true is that it will cost more than what I paid to repair it.

It turns on perfectly though.

Ah what a shame. But at least you're ok, that's the most important thing.

Thanks a lot :)

Yes indeed I am grateful nothing happened to @misselectric and me.

Thanks so much again

Dude that sucks! Glad you both are not hurt. All the best to you, good times will come again!

Thanks so much!. Yes good times will definitively come again. Take care!!
