Morocco

  • The North African side have made 5 appearances at the world cup finals, of which the best performance was in Mexico 1986 where they got knocked out by West Germany in the Round of 16. They were the first African team to ever make it past the group stages of the tournament. The last time they played in a world cup final was in France 1998 where a late winner saw Norway edge them out of qualification for the second round.

  • The middle-eastern team has made 4 appearances in the world cup finals. Their best performance was in France 1998 where they secured a 2 - 1 victory over the USA. They've never made it past the group stage of the tournament. Their first appearance was in Argentina 1978 and their last time out was in Germany 2006.
  • Reza Ghoochannejhad has scored 17 goals in 43 appearances for his country. The 31-year old frontman is Iran's joint 8th all-time top scorer, along with Karim Ansarifard.
