Short History:

In 1948, Makran acceded to Pakistan and was made a district – Gwadar then, was not included in Makran. In 1958, Gwadar and its surrounding areas were reverted by Maskat to Pakistan. 

Location:

The city is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea.Gwadar is near the border with Iran. 

Structure:

Gwadar was a small to medium-sized settlement with an economy largely based on artisanal fishing. The area's potential to be a major deep water port remained untapped under successive Pakistani governments until 2001, when construction on the first phase of Gwadar Port was initiated. 

Importance:

Gwadar is undoubtedly the most appealing port city of Pakistan. for real estate investments due to a large numbers of developments going on. Bulk of foreign investment coming into the city. There is a large number of housing schemes which are selling plots in Gwadar.  

CEPAK:

China has a great strategic interest in Gwadar. In 2013, the state-owned China Overseas Port Holdings Limited acquired Gwadar Port.
