Getting ready for Norway's National Day tomorrow!

It seriously takes some preparation to get ready for our National Day. Every year I feel like such a bad housewife because I'm always in the last minute!

What needs to be done?
Well firstly, the national costumes needs to be ready, for my son and I. My very typical situation is that they're still dirty in the Laundry Room from last year... Luckily (or not) I've had the flu this year so my mother-in-law volunteered to clean the shirts and costumes for me! Also, the clothes for the other kids. What a bliss!

Here everything she cleaned for the family is ready to be worn tomorrow.

What I had to do however was to clean the silver on my costume. Here's a before picture:

And after (sorry about the blurred quality):

The first image in this post is also pretty good illustration of me having done a great job cleaning the silver... :)

As we speak my husband is out running errands because, like always, we discovered things in the last minute what we need for tomorrow; socks for the National Costume for my son, ribbons for the girl and pants for the other son.

The next thing I'll have to do is ironing the Norwegian flags, it's seen as disrespectful to have a flag that is crinkled.

I think we'll get there. Here's an image from last year. Maybe we'll manage to take a family photo this year as well!

Tomorrow I'll tell you about a typical National Day in Norway, what we do, eat and wear.

Thanks for stopping by!
