My partner and I did a controlled crying method of sleep training and it was very effective. Luckily our son never cried more than 20 minutes at a time. He's been sleep through the night since age 7 months and he is amazing at taking long naps. Before he was born I thought sleep training was cruel, but now I realize that's because of all the rumors, stigma, and misconceptions about sleep training that are absolutely not what sleep training is really about! It's important to have good sleep habits and to help kids to sleep independently. No need to be ashamed of that!
