When flying a kite you have to depend on the wind. It doesn't matter who holds the kite. It doesn't matter how fast you run. Without the wind the kite will take a nosedive into the ground. My wind has been gently blowing this week. My kite is nose diving left and right. There is a promise of wind, as soon as I take off running it stops. I am winded and tired. I am frustrated and I kick and scream. The kite just lays there unmoving. I look down at my hand and see the plastic handle and the string. I consider tossing it down and letting my kite go. Maybe I wasn't meant to be a kite flyer. Just as I start to loosen my grip a gentle breeze blows the tears on my cheeks dry.
