I watched the video, and I agree that you can learn things from playing video games. However, I do not believe you can live by Paretos law per se. All you can hope is to achieve peak performance by working smarter and hope to be distributed into the 5% bracket that get 95% of the results, or even better a 1% percenter.

It is amazing what happens when you reach the 5%. You then reset to 100% within that 5% and start all over again.

As a simple example, do you believe that we really only need to maximize 20% of our efforts to achieve 80% of success in our lives? Maybe some people will reject this idea, but it turns out Pareto with the fact his findings managed to open the eyes of millions of people about the magnitude of the benefits of understanding the 80/20 principle.

Nope, I think I just need to be more optimized than 95% of the population and then make it a goal to be in the top .5 %.

There are four priority scales of time that are actually an extension of the law of Pareto, which is urgent and not urgent and not important.

It is definitely a twist on what I normally would watch but I still loved it.

He is right on with his thinking. Maximize your time being the best at something, but, feed your body and soul.

He's absolutely right! At least for the first half. If you're single, that's totally doable. Problem is that's not how real life works for most people anyway. The real trick is finding a balance, and that's not easy to do. Life is dynamic. Things are going to break up the routine. Have to get your oil changed, Flat tire, Sick, Have to take someone else to the hospital, etc..? Things are going to happen that break up your routine, and you're going to have to take that time from somewhere. Everything you do, everything you give your attention to carries opportunity cost.
Balancing your priorities, and allowing enough flexibility in your routine to accommodate the unexpected is the trick. It's also really hard to do at times.
Another thing I want to point out is if you compete with other folks, you're never going to be satisfied. Only person I'm in competition with is myself. If I'm a better guy today than I was yesterday, it's a win. Playing keeping up with the Jones's will keep you miserable.
If you're single, and don't have anyone else depending on you, This is good advice though.

If my knowledge of Pareto is correct; this would mean that changing a vital 20% in someone's life would fix 80% of his problems.
