My fathers death... How Japanese funeral is commemorated...

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

I visited my father's house in Osu Kannon. Never been here before since he passed out.

His body is cremated. Almost all people in Japan that died are cremated. According to 2007 statistics, 99.81% of deceased Japanese are cremated.

This is where his remain where kept. This is his bone and skull inside this tiny jar.

What is inside of the tiny cabinet wood is his bone in his throat.

If you are not familiar with how Japanese funeral is commemorated here is the link.

Here is the funeral before he is being cremated.

This video shows what may happen to Japanese when this time comes to any individual.

I created an article about his cause of death, you can read it here.

By next year, April 2018, we will bring him to his final resting place. For the meantime, he is inside of the house.

Thanks for your time reading my article

wow, so many different traditions!

Yeah, indeed, I am a Christian so I have no idea ever since not until now because of my father's death.

I've never seen a cremated body before. I thought when a body is cremated it all burns down to ash. But then there's bones and skull still in tact... interesting. Thanks for sharing.

thanks!
