The company you keep

in life •  7 years ago

Over the years, I've come to realise the importance of the company you keep. I'm sure we've all been hearing from our parents about this since we were born, but this lesson cannot be taught and has to be learnt.
Bad qualities are what you more easily get from your company but when you get their good points, that's what I call collective growth.
The other day, I met a friend who had dropped out of college and is pretty sad in life. Of course I'm trying to be there for him and help him as much as I can. He met a girl a month back. Last week she also dropped out of college. Now I'm not against following your passion and doing what you want, but the poor lady doesn't even have a follow up for it.

While I was with my childhood friend the past week and we had a gaala time. Whether it be partying, working and conversing with people in the bar, our company was positive and good enough.

Just don't be one of those people who get influenced very easily, if you are then accept it and be aware of the company you keep.
