There are essentials you'll need when going to the University for the first time. These are stuffs that you will be needing to ensure your day to day activities are smooth sailing.
We've made a list of some of these items.
- Tissue paper
This is a must have. You'll need it for the loo. It runs out surprisingly quickly, so you need to stock on them especially if you are living with a roommate.
- First aid kit
Maybe not a complete set. Some plasters and paracetamol may just do.
- Toiletries
Some toothpastes, shampoos, bathing soaps, hair conditioners etc.
- Toothbrush
This is basic really. Toothbrushes are important if you want to avoid a smelly mouth.
- Condom
If you'll be sexually active in school, it is advisable that you get a condom. It is for your protection.
- Towel
For your drying your body after bath.
- A laptop
This is important for both studying and relaxation.
- Memory drive
This is for storing all your important files. Try to make sure your drive has a lot of space. A size 32g is advised.
- Stationery
Pens, books, highlighters, notepads, pencils, erasers etc.
- Some New Clothes
Yea, you are a fresher, try to look presentable if you can help it.
- Paper bin
Try getting one, it will save you the stress of going out to throw each paper. You could gather them up in the bin and take them all out at once.
- Food
Personal food. There are days if you have a roommate and you just do not feel like eating what has been prepared. You could just munch on the personal food you brought.
- Desk lamp
In case there's no electricity and you feel like reading or doing something that requires light.
- Grooming kit
For your manicures and pedicures.
- Reading desk
For your reading and writing purposes.
- Bed
If you school in Nigeria, you'll know you have to buy your foam when coming to school. Try getting one so you don't get 'uncomfortable' at night.
- Cooking gas
For cooking purposes. Self explanatory really ☺.
- Kitchen Utensils
Pots, spoons, plates, knives, cups etc.
- Body lotion
For after bath. Makes your skin look good 😉.
- Hangers
What's the point of a wardrobe with no hangers? Try getting some.
