Video I Made Regarding Chess and its Relation to Life

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey guys : )

I made this video a little while back and I thought the fine people here at Steemit might enjoy it.

I've always loved chess and always thought it was relative to life, so this is my take on the subject.

Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Wow this video is great! Chess is very similar to life and I never thought about it until this video. Thanks @iamjustinscott...I like how you compared the back row to your assets, like a college education.

^^^UPVOTED^^^

Thank you so much! College education, connections, skills, strengths, all can be considered assets : )

Some one please help me!!

Very cool, like this a lot : )

I like it!

I loves games, and completely agree they can teach some great lessons. Top-notch presentation and content!

Thank you v much : )

nice:) and i love chess.. magnus

Thank you, it's an absolutely wonderful game

Interesting. A game where you're playing yourself...I've never thought of that when comparing the game itself to life. I'll keep that idea in my head and try to put it to use. I already see why it makes sense. There's the current you. Then, there's you again, just at the highest point in life living as you please. The funny thing about chess is that you can apply it anywhere in life. Honestly, I would recommend playing the game if you haven't already. Anyways, nice video.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed : )

Interesting thoughts. I've often compared life to a game of Chess, just in different ways. Nicely done!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed : )

Always happy with chese game
Not boring with chese.. I think so @iamjustincott
Please vote me

I just did, cheers @marinalosca and good luck here : )

I love chess to watch, I can understand the game but I can't play. I think I should need to spend some times with chess.
Thanks for your video.

You're very welcome. And yes, I highly recommend learning the game

Thanks for your recommendation, I will try my best.

I liked the chess analogy. Maybe every move is the right move. Every path is the right path.

Thank you : )

I've never been a strong player, but I've always felt that after a couple games it helps bring focus and foresight to my life. Beautiful game. Great post.

Hey it's good that you play at all. Thank you : )

Nice! This is great ,

quick question how do you center your text? I have been trying to figure it out haha

I like that comparison between life and chess, very well outlined. Thanks for sharing

Glad you enjoyed : )

Great video! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I've always lived my life like it's a chess game, too be honest can become very exhausting sometimes :)

Go @iamjustinscott! Your posts have been taking off lately :)

I wish you all the successes Steem has to offer

FYI: you have the board set up wrong. The white square should ALWAYS be in the lower right-hand corner. Just trying to help.

I noticed xD. It was too late by the time I did unfortunately haha

@iamjustincscott Great metaphor. Upvoted, Resteemed and Following. Much success to you and your future projects. @tammierain

Great analogy! Very insightful!

Thank you for watching : )

Yo, yo, yo! I just finished viewing this, and I just have to say, amazing work! I really like how you executed the shots. The analogy is something that I commonly tell people as well, and while we have slightly different explanations, it's still awesome that we share the same sentiments.

In life, like chess, the hardest opponent is yourself. Trying to beat yourself at your own game is like fighting a losing battle. So, I guess the best strategy is to move out of your comfort zone and try things you wouldn't normally do. It's all very complex, and nobody would ever say it's easy. However, the best things in life aren't easy, isn't it? :D

Dude, thanks for the response! I'm actually really interested to hear what your perspective on this metaphor is more in depth, do you have discord or steemit chat?

I do, though as I mentioned in a previous reply, I don't visit it often so it might take some time before I get to reply to you. Feel free to leave a message there though, I'll reply to it as soon as I can. I prefer interacting with comments more than chat, as I've felt a bit burnt out during my first months here on chat haha

Also, congrats on the success of this post! This has done better than any of my posts combined so you should be proud of that achievement. Consider this your breakout post, man :D

Good film about life! :)

great resemblance, I really enjoy it even if I never learned any type of strategies on chess, only how each piece moves. great video man.

Thank you very much : )

I really enjoyed your blog contents please have look at mine here @aminhosseini

Thank you! And followed : )

It's funny because I was just watching something like this the other day. But it was based on how someone can win any game in two moves. Now I'm not much on this game because with out knowing the strategies it's really becomes a thinking game. But I suppose if one wants to grow the muscles in their minds then this would be the game to play.

But I'm pretty sure I'd end up with a 0 - 100 loss record before I get my first win, lol. :)

haha, just like anything else, practice and persistence would make all the difference ; )

now you can make money with chess. so what ?

Where can you make money with chess?

I always loved a good game of chess. I started playing when I was around 8 or 9. Unfortunately, no one I know really plays, even my wife. Tis a great and timeless game.

Exactly, so glad I learned how to play early

Me too! My father and uncles played. they always gave me practice games. "Are you sure you want to make that move" and let me take it back.

Love it!!!

Thank you : D

Love this post. We so love to participate in the contest

Thank you, are you referring to my writing competition?

Thought it was for the game. Just checked it out but yet to go through it
