Microsoft HoloLens - Mind Blowing Augmented Reality!

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

This is an excellent "hand's on" review of an incredible technology by youtube creator James Mackie. I believe we will be seeing a lot more of AR in the near future. Still way to bulky to walk down the street and not look like a cyborg! But doubtless this will be miniaturised in due course.

Anyone (with $3,000) can now buy Microsoft HoloLens... While Microsoft is still positioning HoloLens as purely for developers, sales are effectively open to anyone.

Hi @icedrum,
To clarify we are Vr/Ar content producers. We buy as many output devices as we can to do testing. what i was too short in saying, there are cheaper AR devices to view content with. Occipital Bridge is Apple's AR device mixing MR with it for $900+iphone.
Also you can use HP or Acer MR headset which has Ar based inside out tracking in a VR lens for $500 CDN. Lastly Lenovo has the phab series phones which are 300 or 800CDN but not in marketplace yet.
Windows has made Edge browser HMD able meaning with the right code you can immerse content of the web through webVR...the future is awesome!
This might be a better subject for you to post about as a continuation of your article and explore various AR derivatives.
