100 Blocks A Day: How Are You Spending Your Time?

in life •  7 years ago

“So it is: we are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not Ill-supplied but wasteful of it” - Seneca, Stoic Philosopher, 1st Century.

Whenever I’m around older people, a common theme I hear them say is “I wish I would’ve done this during my life, but life is too short”.

They are filled with regret and didn’t prioritize their life around what is meaningful to them.

However, If you think about it, 70 to 80 years is plenty of time for us to be at our highest potential. The problem is that we prioritize life around meaningless activities.

It’s like when a 30 year old finds out they are going to die shortly because they got diagnosed with cancer. They start doing everything that is on their “bucket list”.

Who do you think is happier, the 30 year old or the 80 year old with regrets?

My question to you is, how come you can’t achieve those things now? Is there really a obstacle setting you back or have you been putting them off?

Tim Urban, founder of Wait But Why, a popular blog, posted about how we have 100 10 minute blocks a day after sleeping 7 - 8 hours.

This reframes your mind. You realize that certain things need to be prioritized over others. For example, my Steemit posts are a priority over watching Netflix. They’re simply more meaningful.

What’s meaningful to you? How would you prioritize your 10 minute blocks? Let me and the community know down below.
