The book Being the Mountain was born out of research that PRODUCTORA conducted while winning the Mies Crown Hall Americas Prize at the Illinois Institute of Technology. It examines the relationship between architecture and the ground, and asks if a building can be made without it touching the ground. Contributors include Frank Escher, Carlos Bedoya, Veronique Patteeuw, and Wonne Ickx. The book explores the legacy and techniques of modernism and the effects of the natural topography on a building.
