It is easy to have limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are the little voice in your head telling you what you don't want to hear. As you listen to it, you can begin to break these limiting beliefs, and you can get rid of them.


Outside influences play a large role in why we hold certain limiting beliefs. For example, many of us hold beliefs about how tall we are, our athletic ability, the size of our home, our weight, etc. Generally, these self-limiting beliefs lose their force once we consider that perhaps they might not be entirely true. How tall could I be if I didn't hit my top out or if I'm not athletic? What if I'm not a female, could I get a male promotion due to my gender?

When you understand your limiting beliefs, you can take the necessary steps to change them. One of the most important things you can do to change a self-limiting belief is to look at your dreams. Consider the things you are most afraid of not being able to achieve. Write down these negative thoughts and the reasons you think these things. Then you can write down positive statements that you believe will help you achieve your dreams.

If you think about your limiting beliefs often enough, you can find many ways of replacing those beliefs with new ones. Often times, you may only need to replace one particular belief with another. Once you have replaced one limiting belief with another, you can begin to realize many more. As you continue to practice positive affirmations, your life will become much happier as your subconscious beliefs will begin to align with your new, happier self.

You can work on replacing all of your limiting beliefs one step at a time. Once you feel that you have completely changed your outlook on life, start to use your new beliefs in your daily life. This will give you the results you have been wanting.

When you decide that you want to pursue your dreams, don't give up. Sometimes it takes time and persistence to reach your goals. Remember that the goals you are setting for yourself are much closer than you think. Start by thinking of positive ways to replace your negative limiting beliefs with new positive thoughts. Limiting beliefs can make your life miserable and limit your potential for true happiness. If you continue to believe this lie to yourself, you will never find true freedom. There are many ways you can overcome these limiting beliefs, and once you begin your journey, you will be amazed at how much happiness you find yourself to be capable of experiencing.

One of the first steps to overcoming your limiting beliefs is to look for evidence that your beliefs are wrong. This can take many forms, but you need to find the source or truth. Once you have the evidence, challenge your original belief by presenting another possible explanation. For example, maybe you have always felt that being successful means having lots of money. Once you receive evidence that this isn't the case, you can easily change your limiting beliefs to something like, "It is important that I am financially secure because then I will have enough to buy what I want."

It may take a lot of work and time to fully change your beliefs, but once you have done this, you will find that it is easier to successfully accomplish anything in life. You will have more confidence and you will be happier. Because of your beliefs, you hold onto limited beliefs about yourself and you are not experiencing success in anything you do. This will eliminate the need for you to hold onto any limiting beliefs about careers and life.
