“The only certified birth control app”

So honestly when I saw this ad I thought to myself this is it. This is the tipping point – where we meet our downfall through technology. I mean come on! An APP for BIRTH CONTROL? I thought it must be a joke.

And then, talking with my girlfriend she told me it actually gets really good results. The reviews are great. Many women say it works great for them. They don’t have to take birth control medication. Instead, they use the app. The way it works is the app helps them to keep track of their period and menstruation cycle. Once the cycle is identified the user knows when they are most and least fertile, and knows when they can have sex without the risk of pregnancy, and when they should probably “wrap it up” before doing the deed.

In our disjointed world where the woman bears the brunt of the contraceptive burden, this might be a game changer. Especially when you consider what’s been happening lately in the world of contraceptives. There’s been advancement made on a male contraceptive injection, which works by halting the flow of sperm. Supposedly it is 100% reversible; someone who received the injection just needs to get another injection to reverse the procedure and get the sperm flowing again. There are conflicting reports, however, about the severity of side effects. Some reports say there are virtually no side effects, while some reports claim the injection was sent back to the drawing board after many men experienced side effects such as depression and mood swings. This immediately drew criticism, as these are common side effects women experience when taking birth control medication.

No matter the side effects, something else to consider is the long-term health and spiritual effect of these types of medications. Say what you want, but altering hormone levels is bound to have some type of effect on your body and well-being. Taking an injection so that your sperm is somehow ‘absorbed’ back into your body, as the male injection researchers claim, is changing your body in a significant way, just as taking a pill everyday to regulate your hormone levels is also changing how your body operates. Using birth control essentially stifles the body’s ability to create and harmonise the flow of life force throughout your body. I mean, think about it! Birth control is regulating the process of creating life!

Enter: an app to solve all our problems and dilemmas? I mean, why not. We have an app for everything these days. Soon we’ll see BCC – the birth control coin, and a whole crypto-technology covering birth, birth control, and genetic modification during pregnancy. I wonder how much market cap it would get…

I’d love to hear from anyone that has any insight into this topic, particularly any experience with the birth control app!
