THE FIRST PROBLEM

YOU CAN RELATE IF YOU'RE FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY LIKE BANGLADESH, INDIA, PAKISTAN AND MORE.

So, I'm from Bangladesh. (SURPRISE!)

Its right between India and pressurized. You can hardly notice if you zoom out. Just like our country's one of the biggest problem, UNDER-APPRECIATION!

Here are the list down 5 problems how we get under-appreciated everyday

  • There's no place for intellectuals in the traditional family

no matter how much we try to fix our own problems or give advise which might actually come to solve such family problems, we're usually unheard and paid no attention. Our way of thinking usually don't match with our parents. We have to fight extra hard to get them listen to us. Not only just that, all our effort to fix ourselves comes to vein as their is the right way to lead our lives with. The word "Boundary" doesn't exist in our parent's dictionary.

  • Your voices are just sound waves. Unheard and non reflective echos

As I've mentioned our voices are just echos, unheard and paid no attention to. It actually hits our subconscious mind that we're not after all so important in our family. Or that's what we think. Because to live in a family if one member isn't paid much attention to, its quite normal they will feel unwanted. That's what usually happens in our country. Parents are always right. Which they are. But not about everything and they refuse to agree. At times we can't even blame them as some times they end up being right in certain circumstances that we end up regretting for not listening in the first place. Yet we listen but they don't tend to listen to us. There is a saying in Bengali "Boro der mukh e kotha bolte hoy na"(You don't talk back to an adult) OR "boroder majhe choto ra kotha bole na"(You don't get to talk when adults are talking) Now I totally understand this. But 23+ years old still aren't old enough to talk when they want to talk?

  • Your creativity are seen as witchcraft

One sentence. Creativity has no place. Discouraged and seen as a total waste of time. Only Education is real! Both in the family and outside

  • If you can't speak English. Then boy oh boy. Only lord can help you!

The struggle is very much real in both the family and social life in Bangladesh. Our generation has became so picky and judgmental that it has become difficult to breathe. Yes! unlike Paris, Mexico, India, china, japan and many other country where English isn't the first language, people around here judge others for poor English skills. There's no other way you can standardize your personality if English proficiency isn't so good. Not only that but also they rate coolness of how well one speak! I know that's a bummer but it's a sad reality we live in. Writing a post with wrong grammar can get you blocked or unfriended from Facebook! even if you had three meals with that person last week.

In spite of all these regular struggle and mental frustration we Bengalis yet stand strong knowing we've got no mental support.

if you ever come to Bangladesh and see a guy who's unreasonably angry or shouting at somebody, know that, he wasn't given much love or attention back in his childhood. Now that you know how we function I hope you'll love our country a little more if not much.
