How to overcome a job interview successfully

Job interviews always give a little nerve, right? In a short period of time, we want to show the best of ourselves, our best image to impress the interviewer, and hopefully win that position we love so much. Ideally, prepare in advance to be safe and confident and increase our chances of success. Here I give you some brief tips to face that interview and emerge victoriously.

Pay enough attention to your appearance and clothing: To give your image more professional, choose suits of neutral colors (gray, blue), and to not be boring you can also add a little color that matches your personality, but avoid costumes too flashy, patterned or garish, miniskirts and necklines (it's not a party!). Likewise, a discreet makeup and hairstyle are essential.

Study your resume well, review your strengths and possible weaknesses: Prepare yourself mentally to answer difficult questions such as your weaknesses, and turn them into opportunities for improvement. Have ready the answers to the usual questions like why you left your previous job (never speak ill of your previous company or boss!), What expectations do you have of these new company or position, what can you contribute to the company, how do you look professionally? In the medium and long term, why do you want to change jobs?

Do your research about the company: You should not only know as much as you can about the industry and the company in particular, but also you can take some questions prepared to show interest to your interviewer, and that the interview becomes a fluent conversation instead of an interrogation of a single party. Show him that you know what you are talking about; Proactivity is one of the things that usually impresses interviewers the most, so keep a mental list of things you can contribute to the company.

Introduce yourself promptly: The ideal is to arrive before the time of the interview, even if it's your turn to wait. This shows responsibility and interest, and causes an excellent first impression.

During the interview, keep these factors in mind: Make good eye contact with the interviewer, smile, sit without crossing arms and legs and in a straight posture, show yourself friendly without losing professionalism (avoid bad jokes), listen carefully, Do not interrupt, do not talk too much, and keep a moderate tone of voice, neither too high nor too low, and do not forget to turn off or silence your mobile phone!

Finally, remember that the impression you cause in that interview will determine if you get the job or continue in the selection process, so be prepared and introduce yourself with all the security of the world.
