Fear and Courage

"Always remember, whenever there is a choice, choose the unknown, the risky, the dangerous, the insecure, and you will not be at a loss."
-OSHO

We never know what we will get in life, opportunities will come our way, sometimes we'll miss them, other times we take them and succeed, and then there are times where we try and fail. We want so badly to succeed that we open ourselves up to hurt and pain, we make ourselves vulnerable, we take the risks in order to learn and grow.

We need to make ourselves uncomfortable in order to grow. We need the friction, the stimulus for change. Sometimes it's uncomfortable, and sometimes we do get hurt. But it helps us mature, it helps us see the parts of ourselves that we're hiding from, the parts we've forgotten. So we can't avoid these moments, if anything we should go straight at them. Welcome change in our lives as a way to grow and learn. Sometimes the opportunities for change will be very visible, we have an opportunity to move to a new place or we meet someone who becomes a big influence on our lives, other times the changes are subtle, new opportunities to grow a current relationship, or something that spurs us internally to pick up a new hobby. The opportunities are always going to be here, the only question is: are we willing to meet them head on? Are we willing to become vulnerable and open to this new change, to new perspectives?

Something I've been thinking about since reading Osho's book Courage: The Joy of Living Dangerously, let me know what you think in the comments below.
