The Majestic Mantayupan Falls, Cebu

Summer is here in the Philippines and it only feels right to haunt for the best places to beat the heat.

Instead of going to the nearest beach, let me take you to some cooler place! Let's take a plunge at Mantayupan falls!

Mantayupan Falls is located in Brgy. Barili, Cebu. It's around 3 hours drive from Cebu City.

At 200 feet high, the majestic waterfalls is one of the famous tourists attractions of the place.

The water is cool and refreshing; a nice getaway for those who loves to swim but are not too fond of the salty beach waters or the chlorinated pools.

The falls is also sorrounded by beautiful trees which provided us shade from the scorching heat of the sun.

The waterfalls has two levels. Inorder to reach the second level, you need to walk on a newly constructed hanging bridge.

We really enjoyed Mantayupan falls. The water is very clear. We stayed in the water for a long time and did not worry about our eyes or skin getting irritated. The sound of the gushing water and the birds chirping were music to our ears. !

Before proceeding to the falls we had our lunch at a nearby restaurant called Ac Tilapia Fun Fishing Village and Restaurant. It is a good place for family and friends' bonding. You can go fishing and order freshly served sea foods. The place is so serene and relaxing.

What's more interesting is that the water that we enjoyed so much is the same water that keeps the ponds alive.

The water from Mantayupan falls flows down and generously gives life to the ponds and rice fields around it.

The government of Barili is also taking measures to preserve the beauty of Mantayupan and it's wildlife by declaring it a protected area.

There's a thousand reasons to love Mantayupan falls. One of my favorites is how it gives and sustains life.Water is life, and that's literally true to Mantayupan.
