We all hear almost every day from news and people about environmental problems our world is having right know, but we don't know which ones are the worst, so I will give my three biggest problems our planet is facing:
1. Population
First of all we have the increasing population of humans and our needs which is the cause of all the environmental problems.
In 1950 the population stood at 2,555,982,611 compared to 2017 which it now stands at over 7,481,000,000, that means with only 67 years our population has increased by almost 3 times
Some of the problems this can cause are, the destuction of more woods and land to accommodate the urban spread, the increasing demand of food and water which could even create wars or the higher emissions of Co2 what would make climate change worst.
I think our countries should make laws like the one that China made once (the One-child policy) to reduce our population instead of wasting money trying to solve environmental problems, we only need to reduce population to minimize human impact on the earth.
To avoid an economic crisis from happening due to the aging population and incapacity to pay pensions we should copy the chilean pension system. In this sistem you earn money while working and invert a bit in an investment fund for when you're old, at the start you would earn less money, but at long term it's the only viable option.
2. The loss of Biodiversity
The loss of biodiversity on the planet mainly because of the behaviours of human beings. Humans are the biggest assasins that have ever lived in the earth, it is estimated that we have extinct 800 species in our lifetime, and we continue to destroy the habitats of species on a every day.
Some examples of animals extinct for us are, the Tasmanian Tiger, Javan Tiger, or West African Black Rhinoceros among many others.
When we exterminate species it has a knock on effect in the local food chain so new super predators or foreign animals can invade this territories.
The impact of loss of the biodiversity will affect the planet for a long time, and it will probably need millions of years to recover. The current loss of biodiversity which is killing almost the amount of species as the impact of the asteroid that extinct dinosaurs is also being named “The Sixth Extinction”.
3. Climate change
Although being controversial and political a major part of climate scientists, believe that human activities are currently affecting the climate and that the tipping point has already been passed, it is too late to undo the damage that climate change has done to the environment.
I think we still can prevent climate change but we need a real revoultion involving everyone politicians, rich people famous...
and trying to drastically reduce our CO2 emissions, if we continue at our current levels of emissions we are not going to be able to recover the damage that climate change will do to the environment.
We should focus on the scientific investigation of renewable energies like solar or eolic, but the only real energy that could supply our increasing demand is energy from nuclear fusion, it produces little waste big amount of energy, but it has currently a major problem, there's no material know which doesn't melt due to the extr.mely high temperatures fusion generates, so it will take some years before we can use it.
Aren't genetical modifications a possible problem to? if they are not done well.

Yes, actually this were my personal three worst problems, but there are many more:(
