How to Change This World for the Better

in life •  7 years ago

You can make a change
Do you ever think of what you are doing with your life? Are you here only for earning some paychecks? Do you get a feeling that you are not changing anything at all? Do you believe that there is nothing you can actually change? Does all this situation feel similar to you? If yes, you are not alone. There are so many people in the world who always want to do something productive and good but never get the time or idea to fulfill their thought. Similarly, there are people who do not even use their potential to identify what needs to be changed and how they can change it.

Many people believe that one person cannot make any difference. They think that single person is just like a tiny speck in this world of seven continents, 193 independent countries, and 7.4 billion people. But, the fact is, it only depends on the way you think. Look, if you imagine it this way: In this world of 7.4 billion people, if every person tries to introduce even a little amount of positivity, this world will transform into a very beautiful planet. So, a positive change always starts with one person. Yes, change starts with you, right now & right here!

Ways to introduce positive change
The only purpose of our life is to create a change. Some of us choose to create less and smaller changes in life while others decide to create a great change in the lives of people. Both of them are beautiful and honorable reasons to live. We should never underestimate our capabilities and potential that push us to create something better and healthy for this world.

Here are some ways listed down that can give you great ideas about changing the world for the better. Let’s have a look at them:

Highlight a problem
The very first step of any change begins with the realization that something is wrong. Yes, change always begins with realization. When you strongly feel about an issue that never gets enough attention, and when you see people suffering because of it, it becomes your duty to raise your voice about the issue. In every society, there are some issues or problems that need to be highlighted so that they can be resolved for the betterment of mankind. Just point out those issues and become an advocate for change. Share the cause with your family, friends, relatives, and on social media so that maximum people can support you.

Take a start from small steps
When you have pointed out a problem in your society that you want to eradicate, the next thing to do is to take a start from somewhere. See, you do not need to do everything at once. The idea towards a consistent and persistent change is always starting from small steps. Just think of what small actions you can do for today in order to make someone happy or to comfort someone. Eventually, your small actions start building on each other to create something magnificent. So, the magnificent things always come into existence by taking a very courageous first step.

Be consistent in everything you do
If your actions do not have consistency, there is nothing going to work in the long term. Change requires a great amount of potential, effort and most of all consistency. Once you have decided to raise your voice, stay committed to yourself and your goal. Never take your steps back once you have introduced a ray of hope among people. Remember that, consistent changes always require consistent actions, consistent thoughts, consistent behavior, and consistent mind. Yes, maintaining consistency in our actions is a very difficult task while working towards a cause but never give up because of the difficulties that cross your way. Just stay focused and keep your eyes on the destination.

Get a full understanding of your environment
Every issue in this world originates as a reaction to its surroundings. In other words, every problem of this world is basically a function that is processed in a particular environment. When you clearly know the problem and its cause as well, it gets easy for you to play your game. You already know about the boundaries, the rules, and the players while starting your tournament. So, the better you know your environment, the better understanding you will have about the reality you are working it and, ultimately, it will help you to make better choices thus increasing your chances of success.

Never have great expectations
Whenever we think about changing this world, we believe that we will require a lot of people for it. We try to involve as many people as we can just to make sure that we have a majority with us. This kind of thinking pushes us to develop certain kind of expectations from the people who are supporting us. When those expectations are not fulfilled, we feel dejected. Remember, the greatest change in this world are made by a few people so never have big expectations from others. These unnecessary expectations demotivate us badly and we end up losing our focus.

Yes, had similiar realisation few years ago. I did want to free myself to make what I enjoy the most, started wordpress blog and showed my personal projects. It was well received so I started getting orders for custom artwork. Slowly, step by step I created myself new niche. I was able to change my own life, but, this area has very limited impact for world. Still searching where I could park my skills to change that.

Lets all change the world together people! Keep up the hard work!

A great topic. And you cover a lot of basic parts that seem obvious. But I do have some questions about some of them... Not to suggest I have answers, but I think these are questions worth asking...

  • Why 'change' for the 'better' (as your title suggests)? The problem with already having a direction in mind, a reasoning behind the change you wish to see, to impose, is that this direction already limits the possible actions you can take. It goes against your last point, to never have great expectations (I would say... never expect anything, any expectation kills the potential of any action you take)
  • Why highlight a problem? Why not focus on something that goes well, something that is completely in line with your values, the world you want to live in? As Einstein stated sometimes, in my own words: The thinking that has produced the problem, cannot be expected to solve it.
  • Regarding the understanding your environment... doesn't acting on something, actually doing something, make you understand your environment differently? I don't think that it's possible to fully know one's environment, because both your point of view, the environment and you yourself are changing all the time, evolving. So maybe it's better to learn about the world through doing something (failure is a great tool to learn about things in a much more profound way than any idea of success ever can)...

Anyway, enjoyed your post, provoked some thoughts in me (as you can see), which is the best kind of compliment (in my opinion).
