Girl Sees Slaughterhouse Footage For The First Time. Her Reaction?

This girl saw slaughterhouse footage for the first time and had a lot of questions.

She did not know that 'chicken' the food item and 'chicken' the animal are in fact one and the same. I think this is true of many children. The truth is hidden from them.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I explained to her what happens in the egg industry. How male chicks are killed because they will never produce eggs. Similarly, male calves are killed in the dairy industry because they will not produce milk, and because the milk that was meant for them is stolen and sold to people who choose to buy it.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She didn't like how all of that sounded, but I told her that she can do something to help these animals. I told her that she can choose to eat vegan foods instead of animal products, and explained to her what that meant.

Once she learned that there was an alternative to causing harm to these animals, and that everyone participating at the Cube Of Truth event was vegan because we feel the same way, her face lit up with a smile.

For about an hour she hung around, watching footage, talking with her family about it, and coming back to me to ask more questions.

When it was finally time for her to go, I told her how awesome she is for caring about animals and for taking the time to learn about how she can help them. I gave her some resources to check out so that she can continue to learn more, and a solid high five.
