This may just be the most beautiful campsite I have found in seven whole months of the camping lifestyle, and just wanted to share some pictures of this awesome location in the Fishlake National Forest of central Utah. It is certainly the most remote and quietest car camping I have ever found, only a very occasional 4-wheeler goes by, so far no more than one group all day, and I’m miles from the closest town with any services at all.
Three miles from the Interstate down a pretty unmaintained dirt road that was barely passable in my Subaru, I found the perfect place right next to North Creek in a little meadow amidst some juniper trees.
Perfect timing on my part, as I was just in time for the full moon!
And I even decided to attempt the construction of a temporary ‘carport’ sun shelter for my car with a tarp, and succeeded, after much effort and with the help of some cottonwood poles from a dead cottonwood nearby and tons of paracord I thankfully had on hand. First time I’ve ever done this, and it even weathered a pretty strong windstorm yesterday...
Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and even a snow-capped peak, across the sagebrush covered valley - some of the most amazing views I’ve had since embarking on this journey in October.
Only downside is the lack of cell service and hour drive into the closest town with all the major services, but I think the views, along with the peace and quiet will just have to make up for it.

Yes it sure is! I feel blessed to have found such a beautiful place that is also so peaceful and quiet, with so many different hiking and biking options as well.
