A Saturday night at the city of Barcelona

Last Saturday I went to the birthday of my cousin. My family doesn't celebrate very often. In fact, we meet just my brother, his girlfriend, my cousin, a common friend and myself. We normally phone or text a "happy birthday". But this year it happened that I had been trying to meet with that common friend for years, although he is in Barcelona most of the times. A few week-ends ago, I was almost able to meet him, but my night bus was missed so I had to cancel the meet. So I was invited.

We went to a Chinese restaurant near Estació del Nord and Arc de Triomf in Barcelona. A little bit expensive. We took individual dishes and a few shared ones. Quality was acceptable. But every time I go to that kind of restaurants I am always ordering the same dishes. This time, however, I was unable, since they wasn't offering them. At least, there was Chinese bread. It wasn't any special. I still prefer the bread from the restaurant at my town, where they offer the dishes I take most of the times, also.

Then we went to the Undead Dark Club, an old gothic themed music bar in Sants; as far as I know, it is currently the only one surviving in Barcelona. There were no many people at the time, which is the kind of ambient I prefer. Last time I went there, most people were dressed on the industrial and vampyric aesthetics. Not this time, though. That night there weren't anyone dancing with those funny gothic industrial choreographic dancing movements.

I drank vodka with Fanta Naranja and a shot of Piruleta -an alcoholic drink which tastes like a candy, I think it is "lollipop" in English-; not the kind of shot I would normally take, but the one I wanted -a pink colored tequila- wasn't available there, and it was the one they normally drink. I liked it and it made me feel more drunk that the vodka, which I felt like water.

Music wasn't great, neither. maybe that was because there wasn't too many people. One Rammstein song, some other from Mina Harker, another sung in Russian for a band named "Ic3peak" which sounded a lot like pseudo-lesbians Tatu, a few from Blutengel and some others more "electro" which none was able to identify. So we left the place at around 2 AM.

My friend and I couldn't chat too much and in the deep way we would have liked, so there will be another opportunity soon, maybe in about some months, as he is quite busy right now. It looks quite a lot of time to me, but not that much, since last time we met was in a concert of Finish singer Tarja Turunen, in 2012!. Every summer during latest 3 years we chat a little bit and we end with a deal to meet in September, but it doesn't happen; normally because of me being low.
