BULLIED off HIVE - wonder if I am welcome to share my writing here?

in life •  last year

Despite a two year absence on Hive, I wanted to come back and continue writing - but the circle jerkers, dick swingers and bullies had other plans for me. I wonder if my writing would be welcome here?!

Thank you SO MUCH @stef1 and @steemcurator05 - What a wonderful welcome back to Steem! Really, very much appreciated!!! It's been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster... so really do value the open arms! Thanks again!

Hi @mile16,

Thank you so very much for the warm welcome and your kind words! I appreciate it very much! I am really looking forward to being here on Steemit again and I hope we can get to know one another well too! I hope you are having a wonderful wednesday!

xoxoxo

Hola @mile16,

I am not surprised with that, that is how it works on Hive.

Truly sad!!

It would be nice to have another "real" content creator here...

It's a different landscape here, though, than it used to be. Engagement is almost non-existent, except for a tiny core group. Unless you publish in Korean or Chinese... which, admittedly, I have not tried.

Yes, I have noticed that :D

However, I will say this: I would put my head on a block to say that there are MANY, many MANYYYY people who feel about Hive the way I do and would probably breathe a sigh of relief to grow a "fresh" community of English speaking content creators back this side again.

For SO long, I never posted here, for two reasons:

  1. Loyalty to Hive
  2. FEAR of being cancelled on hive.

(I should probably have swapped the order of those two around, lol)

But now - I feel neither of the above :D

Perhaps if people began to see a small community of creators growing on Steem, without the fear of the bullies... then things may take a slow turn :)

I never entirely "left" as I was always curious to see how things would play out. Then I decided to just fly under the radar, on both sides. Which basically means zero cross-posting, and only engaging with "trusted" people who are on both sides. When I'm on Steemit, I never talk about Hive; when I'm on Hive, I never mention Steemit.

If anyone gives me shit I'm quick to point out that all major bloggers and content creators publish to multiple venues, and to be so "precious" as to think your site can have "exclusivity" is social suicide unless you're paying me a salary!

I post most of my stuff here to the "World of Xpilar" community, which is mostly English based... with some Russian and some German. Xpilar is Norwegian, an independent witness, and now runs the Steemauto service (curation/trails, etc.). He's a good guy, and he has a large group of decent mods.

Of course SteemitBloggers/PHC still exists but like many of the old groups is dead as can be.

I'm sure you've noticed there's no shortage of "rewards pool rape," most of it from a handful of people delegating small fortunes to UPVU (and a couple of copycat services) in exchange for $200.00 upvotes. Steemcurator upvotes are legit and come from human curators.

I've long kept multiple blogs, so this type of gig is pretty normal for me...

But yeah, I am sure there are people who would appreciate something like a rebirth of PHC!

....ooooh, I did NOT mean the rebirth of anything like PHC... my days of squandering my time and energy are OVER, lol! I just meant "community" as in a growing number of people.

Thank you for that info - I was actually looking at the communities here yesterday and "World of Xpilar" did strike me as one of the more positive, hence I posted there this morning - but I appreciate the validation, because yes... all very different now, so in effect I am a total babe in the woods haha!!!

to be so "precious" as to think your site can have "exclusivity" is social suicide unless you're paying me a salary!

BINGO, lol!

Glad to see you here though :D and I will go find you on FB - I just havent been on. I was also not there for almost 2 years as well... and only recently "went back"

Glad to see you, too! And no worries; I know you went walkabout, and I totally grok that, having done the same... well, several times...

I'm still new here, but I'm glad, among the choices of Steemit and Hive, I chose to start here, on Steemit. At first, it's a learning curve, going through the verification process, but I'm glad many people here are willing to help. I feel welcomed; the community is solid and supportive. So, without realizing it, I feel that my creative process in writing and crafting narratives from my photos flows effortlessly, even surprising myself. I have a blog where I write and share my photos, but it's challenging to find consistency if no one reads and interact with my posts. Low-quality posts often get more views and exposure.
I understand what you experienced on Hive was unfortunate. If that were me, I might have given up on writing a long time ago.
My hope is that you'll finds Steemit to be the right place for you to share your writing."

Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it very much and I hope you are right! Though, after being gone from Steemit for almost three years and returning now... so far the welcome has been warm!

I look forward to crossing paths with and getting to know more people like you along the way so that we can change the narrative of what you mentioned... bringing good content back into the limelight and also getting the authentic engagement levels back up :)

Onward and upward I say!

Lovely to "meet" you.

I stumbled across the link you shared on X. That was how I found you... and I am sure the same can be the case for many more!

Have a beautiful Monday!

Thank you..and nice to meet you too..

Welcome to the club, lol :)

Happy to re-join!!! lol and glad to see some familiar faces!!

Me too. Everything I post was downvoted to zero. No reason given.

They can't give a reason, because there is no justification for it.

I was told on Discord that to avoid Hive downvotes I needed to sell all my Steem and all my Blurt and stop posting on Steemit and Blurt …. I did that, and bought mostly Bitcoin on the last big dip but still kept getting everything downvoted to zero on Hive. So I figured I might as well come back to Steemit and Blurt. Lesson Learned …

oh my goodness!!! That is seriously AWFUL!!! And you have been around since the same time as me - I remember you from way back then.

Those people are truly something else.

Yesterday I was watching the FULL video from cryptofinally - it was nothing short of monstrous!!! The things they said about her and other people (me included - just not on that video) was SICK! They are literally the worst kinds of human.

Completely vile.

I really am SO happy to be rid of them altogether and it feels WONDERFUL to start building something positive here again :)

Onward and upward! xxx

I was bullied off Hive too. Hive sucks

I second that.

Greetings friend @jaynie

Welcome back to Steemit, at World Of Xpilar we open the doors for you to share its good content. It is unfortunate that communities on a supposedly decentralized platform like Hive do not show the freedom for writers to share their content.

Steemit has become an excellent family space, where most communities stay connected for the benefit of users.

I wish you success in this new beginning.

Thank you so very much for the warm welcome and apologies for taking so long to respond, but irl has been a little crazy of late and I simply have not managed to "get here".

Your open arms mean a LOT to me.

I am really looking forward to getting back into writing here regularly!

Much love and have a wonderful Friday and weekend ahead!
