Meet The Photographer!

in life •  7 years ago  (edited)

In my ongoing Steemit column to on board as many new photographers to our favorite social media platform of choice here on the site as possible, I would like to welcome as well as introduce two new photographers for your awareness who have allowed me to share their work for this blog.

At the age of 52, Rob McAvoy didn't get into photography until quite late in the game. Rob has always wondered how people were able to capture images of traffic long exposures, Rob believes that's where his long exposure, light painting Journey first began.

35234692592_619bb9d0ab_k.jpg
(https://flic.kr/p/VFz1xS)

Rob fashioned his own lightpainting tools that make these kind of images possible (see image below) McAvoy modestly describes his magic light wand creation's as being simple and basic piece together and soldered. Rob has even put out a few more complicated builds such as a neopixel printer. Learning basic programming was a key factor in Rob's success at creating the tools necessary for light painting.

As a concert photographer who specialize in Event Photography and Landscape, HDR panoramic images I've never really seen anything quite like the photography Rob McAvoy has created with his portfolio of lightpainting photography. When an artist can create their own tools that help to push the boundary of their art, the artist doing so is usually one of the most dynamic and creative minds around whose work will always be noticed by people who catch a glimpse of the imagination of a given vision, such as the one we see in the body of work presented by Rob McAvoy.

Welcome To A Collection Of Images Presented By Great Sand Dunes National Park.

The park contains the tallest sand dunes in North America up to 750 feet (229 m) tall. The dunes cover an area of about 30 sq mi (78 km2) and are estimated to contain over 5 billion cubic meters of sand. Evidence of human habitation in the San Luis Valley dates back about 11,000 years.

Meet Anthony Fontaine!

Anthony is a French-Canadian photographer from the province of Quebec.

The tones, focus and detail in Anthony's photography reminds me of HDR which considering these photos consist of moving subject's and the photo's are straight out of the camera and likely have minimal Photoshop, the exposure from Anthony average image could not be any more immaculate, with results offering sharp detail to the point where you can almost feel the texture of some of the feathers of the birds or virtually feel like you can touch a drop of water splashing from the lake off one of the wings of a duck.

Having started Wildlife Photography in August of 2013 using a Fuji film HS 50 EXR, Anthony is well outfitted these days with a Nikon d500 + Nikkor AF-S 200-500mm + Nikkor 400mm f / 2.8 AF-S II.

The patience to capture these kinds of photo with this kind of detail requires a tremendous amount of motivation and a heck of a lot of time to get to the right locations where wildlife is being Wild. Although Anthony is new to the photographer game, I can only imagine the kind of work Mr Fontaine will be putting out over the next few years and look forward to following his photo stream.

Any photographer who decides to join Steemit after being invited with one of my blog entries is going to receive a generous up vote for their first post as well as a follow-up interview with a more in-depth article featuring the artist who have arrived on the site. It's not obvious for people who are not familiar with cryptocurrency why they should join a site like this without first familiarizing themselves with the platform in general. That is why I will take as much time as it requires to introduce and properly explain the procedure to anyone I have invited with a blog entry, who I consider to be my peers in the photography industry. Not that I don't think everyone in the world should join the site, I just don't have the time to indoctrinate everyone myself. Although one day I hope to have more time to on-board new users to Steemit 24/7 ;D

I want to take a second to thank you for checking out this post. Comments for the photographers are always appreciated and I look forward to hearing your feedback in the comment section below.

Trust me to be a Photographer its not always the camera that does the wonders. Its the Eye of the phitographer his mind his thoughts how he want to see the things. He just clicks them at tgat time when he finds things around him at peace with his mind n soul

@tasauver you got it perfectly. It's all down to be in one tune with the object, not the device. Why? The device is only there to accomplish the focus of your mind.

I know about this in golf and in football. I once played both at high school. To find a corner of the net is not largely down to how hard you shoot or the type of ball. When you are one with the destination (in the case the top corner as it regards football), you can put the ball there time and time again. That is the secrets of freekick experts in football history.

It's more of the min and soul than the device.

The lenses aren't greater than the mental eye.

Great post @jazminmillion

Indeed. It's the photographers eye. but sometimes you need that particular gear to make those works you would like to make. So the right tools to use are very special. But if one hasn't got the eye, the best gear will not help him.

I just started my journey. These photos are inspiring. I just tried some light painting (Failed) but had alot of fun. I'm resteeming and BOOKMARKING as this is amazing work from some great artists.

Awesome @jazminmillion, it's look like a retro electro wave in the 80's. I love it ! Great post

Alot of people think success in photography is having the most expensive gadgets. That is big deception, if you are not able to use your mind, initiative, creativity and innovation, your works will just be like using the phone camera
This your artwork is distinct.

I quite follow you. But in wildlife one needs that gear to make those shots (works) happen. forget about photographing an owl with your iphone. for landscapes or artwork that is something else...

Very nice captures. Photography is like any art IMO given enough time and passion anyone can and will take great photos. But it does take a long time to know what will speak to the viewer. Not all well taken images are art. Art is the images that move you or say something to the viewer. And each one of us strive for that image.

Woooww.. Thats so amazing. 😍😍 love it owl 😍

I love what photographers like Rob McAvoy are doing.
These guys don't want to fight eachother in existing genres, they just create their own style!
Everytime someone has unique ideas and put it into photos , it enhances the whole world of photography.
Let's see what's next. :)

Nice one @jazminmillion! you do really have an eye for photography. Looking for more posts around here.

watch my presentations

Thanks for being so original

Damn these photos are amazing!

Nice pic!

I wish I have that kind of talent. Without talent, knowledge and patience. I don't think you can capture a great moments like that. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos. Keep it up

Beautiful photos! Thanks for sharing them.

Fabulous introduction of two very talented photographers. They both have a very artistic eye although very different. Abstraction can certainly be very interesting and it appeals to my need for symmetry. The beauty of nature seems so close with these wonderful shots from Anthony Fontaine. I can see things through his photography that I will never get close enough to see. I can only hope to one day produce something this great. Anthony Fontaine is interesting also as my middle name is Fontaine. A descendant from the French Huguenots. Can't wait to see more from these two artists. I did post my most favorite sunrise picture yesterday on my blog. @Ladyartist Would appreciate any looks people care to give.

Thanks for upvote me

To be a great photographer is all about the way you see life and how you embrase it. You can have the expensive camera and equipment but not have the right timing- the pictures are mostly a mirror of your self.

its a wonderful photo..awesome

Epic!!!!! I'm lost for words. Give that man a BELLS!!! Beautiful stuff @jazminmillion. I love it..

This is call real photography

Wonderful photography and lighting effects. The animal shots are so special especially the mountain goat and the blinking owl! Well done.

Amazing pictures! Nice find!

wow ... a remarkable work of amazing people, photography is not just about the camera, but the ability, foresight, and the art of the photographer is more decisive, nowadays many photographs are being used for camera and processing technology photo

awesome, photography,my dear, @jazminmillion

Awesome long exposure shots! keep up the good work

The photos are stunning! I really like photos of birds and animals in the dynamics. I liked the photo, which shows a flying duck, it leaves a mark on the water and splashes. Turned out great!
