A short interlude

in life •  8 years ago  (edited)

So I know I've been pretty quiet on here the last week or so, and I'm sorry for that.

The first few days of silence i was sick and mush brained.

After that was a few days of irrational rage. Not at anything, but rather at everything. YouTube video lineup got me pissed. It was my subscription feed, the people I choose to follow because I find them interesting or entertaining and I was pissed that they weren't entertaining me in the right way. I have no idea what caused those days of hate. Hormonal shift from being sick? Lingering effects from a year old concussion? Jupiter in reverse osmosis retrograde? No clue, but I thought it best not to bring that shit here.

Then the car broke down. For Good. I'm still dealing with that, and it will either be a long post with lots of pictures or several shorter posts with a few pictures each.

So I've been very busy. Tonight a whimsy took me and i decided to make my own Arnold Palmer.A cup of homemade
I cold brewed some Jasmine green pearl tea that my sister got me a week or so ago (she is now in love with those weird fruity teas Teavana has). To make it lemonady without diluting it (it's a very light tasting tea) i made a lemon syrup using 1 1/2 cups lemon juice and 1 2/3 cups sugar (the recipe i found called for 1 3/4 cups, but my dry scoop was for 1/3 of a cup) which i stirred over heat until the sugar was fully dissolved. The cup I had was 12oz., so this obviously made a lot more than i needed.the extra
So i poured myself 10oz. of tea and 3 tablespoons of the lemon syrup. It's not an Arnold Palmer, but it is tasty.

Yesterday I dismantled shelves. When I wake up I'll be battling rust. Right now though, the American East Coast sleeps. I sit in silence, and drink my tea.

Thank you @randowhale!

Nice to have you back on buddy. That tea sounds amazing, I couls go dor a cup myself. I hope today brings you much success in your car fabrication!

How did you like it?

It was pretty good dude, I enjoyed it. Definitely something I would drink again.

The lemon syrup takes about five minutes to make. The iced tea takes something closer to twelve hours.

Hell of a set up, but worth it.

Penny (so named after the character from the big bang theory, due to her check engine light) will probably not be missed. Her death was the car version of going quietly in her sleep, and she will roam the elysian fields forevermore. No doubt she will bag herself some sheep.
