On an airplane before a flight, the attendants instruct the passengers to put their mask on before helping others.
Why is this?
If you cannot help yourself, how can you be expected or relied upon to help others?
In terms of taking care of ourselves first, we need to be selfish. Our state of mind, our bodies and our health are more important than anyone else.
I mean that - more important than anyone else. That means more important that your child, your spouse, your family members.
You must take care of yourself first, which will make you more capable of taking care of others.
Others will be more receptive to your care because you take such good care of yourself!
