The world sure has changed in a few years. When I took this (highly edited) picture, yoga was not as mainstream as it is now, and America’s biggest concern was the idea of electing a first generation American (who happened to be black) as president.
Now we wonder if the information we receive is real. We worry about the stability of our infrastructures. We fight over who should be responsible for the environment, for health care, for each other. We fight over who is more important. We fight for money. We fight just to fight.
Why are we so angry? Why are we so unhappy? Does life really have to be this hard?
The next generation is asking questions. They are questioning jobs. They are questioning money. They are questioning government. Can you blame them?
The only answers our generation can provide are more soma. Medicate the working class. Keep them productive. Medicate the outliers, keep them compliant. It’s an illusion designed to keep us distracted. What would happen if we actually changed?
Can we grow from this without completely falling apart first? These are the thoughts that fill my mind. I write them down, to serve as an online record of this moment, and to encourage discussion among the steemit community.
Love and light to all!
