Step by Step Process for making a mold

in life •  7 years ago

My partner works in the film industry in the prop department and sometimes he makes really cool things for movies and television.
Enjoy these pictures of us making a mold of a Garbage Pail kid using Smooth-On platinum silicone rubber.

@jennwyant, thank you for sharing your knowledge,
I will learn to make it later.

thank you for sharing your process! ive been experimenting with silicone molding recently - I started with the cheap Smooth On version (oomoo, I think?) but would you recommend spending the extra few bucks on the platinum version? I am trying to make a mold of a photo frame, so I can cast cement frames.

Years ago I use to have a store on Etsy and I made these kind of molds, I loved mold making. Nice job

Thanks totally just learning the process as my partner works in film and they do this a lot. :)
