How well do you know your inner critic? Try listening to it when you talk to yourself. When you hear yourself talking negatively, try to think of it as a ridiculous cartoon character that you don't want to deal with. Perhaps it's telling you that you don't deserve something or that you can't accomplish it. Or it may be judging your life and how you should behave in it.


What's your inner critic like? When it speaks to you, does it have an angry tone? Is it cold or sarcastic? How demanding is it? Does it sound like you're screaming at your inner critic? Is it a whisper or a deep voice that is demanding? You'll know if you can identify with the voice of your inner critic by comparing it to the tone and volume of other people's voices.
