Design for Disability: Fashion faux YES

in life •  7 years ago

I stumbled across this amazing article which promotes the new range of fashion for people with disabilities.

This is such an incredible step forward into ensuring people with disabilities are ENabled and empowered in the society we live in, rather than DISabled.

The clothing aims "to make the clothes both fashionable, functional and affordable."

A Web Series promoting these designs has been created, showcasing the unique and beautiful designs created.
I highly recommend you check out some of the incredible designs (which I looooove and want to wear!!) and the gorgeous models showing it off.

Who said that just because you may walk differently, talk differently or think differently, this automatically makes you isolated from the rest of society. These people, who are NO DIFFERENT to ourselves deserve to look and feel beautiful at all times- just like we want to.

What a fantastic idea. Have not looked at the link yet but I wonder are the cloths designed to make it easy to dress and undress someone with limited mobility?

Sorry for my delayed reply... but yes! This article reflects on the several designers that worked with people with disabilities, taking into account all aspects of the person- the ease/accessibility for which the clothes could be worn, the practicality of the clothes and also the personal styles that these people had. Its a really empowering article to have a look at whenever you get a chance :)
