How Often Do You Hear People Say “I Can’t Do This”?

Too many times I'm sure. Well funny enough we all say so too when we are in a cross road or in a dilemma

Like they say we are only human so is completely natural if fear comes in once in a while. The truth of the matter is those two negative words are a big factor in people not been able to accomplish anything.

So if you find yourself constantly saying, “I can’t” change your mentality and start thinking positively so that the negative mentality wont take over your life completely.

I can't and I won't are not the same

The thing is “I can’t” doesn’t mean “I won’t” so there is a big difference. When you doubt yourself you subject yourself to fear of not been able to accomplish anything. Your brain controls all the major functions on your body and what you compel it to do is exactly what it will do.

Think of how often you continue to doubt yourself and what feeling or sensation does it bring? Only fear of failure that hasn’t even happen yet. This is an obstacle you need to learn to overcome to enable move forward and more build back your self esteem.

One way to do this is evaluating yourself to know what is standing in your way making you to doubt yourself and thinking of ways around it to build your confidence. Something that will motivate you to start saying I can.

For example you can emulate even your favorite celebrities, hero or stars for their success and aim to succeed just like they did if you don’t make as much as they do. An accomplishment is still an accomplishment irrespective of how big or small it is.

Eliminate your doubts and fear

Eliminating your doubts and fear is the first step to accomplishing your set goal in life but it doesn’t end there cause you need to back that up with one other thing, ''the Will'' to make it happen cause nothing will happen except you take a bold step forward to make things materialized for you.

So start by taking a hard look at what you want to accomplish be it in life or in your business and start thinking about how to do it or how you are going to make it work for you. This you can do by writing out your goals, and the steps needed to achieve the goals.

Dedicate a set time for this task

Spend an adequate amount of time planning what you need to do to accomplish your goals. Don’t keep planning forever and start materializing your plan cause is very easy to get caught up in the trap of over planning, and over thinking which is one of the problem that many have.

In conclusion

Overcome your fear, believed that you can do it, planned it out, and taken action and you will see results of your efforts. Remember the negativity is all in the mind. All you have to do is eliminate your fear, believe in yourself and start thinking positively.

"I can't" is really "I won't."

The moment I started making this distinction in my own life was the moment my life started trending upwards exponentially.

The words we use matter, especially the ones we tell ourselves.

The same goes to when we say "I don't have time." In reality what we are saying is "this is not a priority for me."

Seriously, if you're struggling to achieve your goals or create the life you want -- audit your words. I can almost guarantee you tell yourself you can't.

Super inspiring post my friend.

Very true @aboundlessworld

Exactly @lobstree. Thanks for the comment

people can do extraordinary things the mind is the biggest obstacle

Well said I believe you @alktoni

A very motivational post. I agree completely with you. When my children tell me they can't do something I say "The only time you can't do something is if you never try,"

Exactly @stichin-sista. I thing one of the obstacle our children face is fear which brings doubt. All they need is someone to encourage them and build confidence in them.

I believe it was Henry Ford who said "Whether you think you can or can't, you're right."

Grate quote. I'll use that next time my children say they can't. Thanks

"Eliminating your doubts and fears..." and when you can't do that, just push on through them! Great post, John.

Thanks @norene glad you find it interesting.
