New years eve resolutions

Its already the 4th of January can you believe that. Its the week of new resolutions that may or may not keep throughout the year. When I was asked what mine were I thought about it and decided to take one day at a time, one challenge at a time, one amazing moment at a time but most of all get back in touch with my faith and to allow God to finally be in control. Now this is extremely hard for me because I don't relinquish control well. I always need to be right in the moment of things planning this planning that. I have a hard time to trust that life will go on and bring me along with it. I figure if I am not controlling my next move it won't happen. I am not a patient person and when I'm told I need to wait I freak inside. On the outside I'm calm as can be but my insides is rocking like a party on news years eve. This year I feel like I am being extremely tested and I feel the hand of God being reached out to me saying come on lets go for a walk, it don't matter where we go we are just going to walk. ugggg

This is the year of total I don't knows is our business going to sell, are we going to move, am I putting my kids in public school or not, is my older kids going to finally get their life straight, and on top of all that I just found out I'm going to be a grandma again. Wow talk about feeling overwhelmed.

New years eve resolutions started when the Babylonians made promises to their gods at the start of each year that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts. The Romans began each year by making promises to the god Janus, for whom the month of January is named. In the Medieval era, the knights took the 'peacock vow' at the end of the Christmas season each year to reaffirm their commitment to chivalry.

What exactly is a News Years Resolutions? It is a tradition most common in the Western Hemisphere but also found in the Eastern Hemisphere in which a person resolves to change an undesired trait of behavior, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their life.

So basically New year resolutions are promises that we make every year to ourselves or to others. We need to either be reasonable to ourselves or be unrealistic and set ourselves up for failure. So in reality we can choose the year to be one of happiness or sadness before it even starts. So as everyone is thinking or have already thought of their resolutions remember to be kind to yourself and remember we are not in charge we are just along for the ride. Happy New Year everyone.
