Every 6 to 8 weeks there is a horserace in Kilcoy. It is a big thing in town. So we put on some nice close and went to our first horserace.
Australians love to bet, especially live on sports. Therefore we decided to do a small bet as well. It was only 5 AUD because we don´t know much about races. We picked a strong looking horse whose quotes were good and bet that it places betwenn first and third place. It was horse number 5. I took a picture of Chris and our friend Eric together with the horse before the race.
This is the receipt of our bet.
And then the race started. This picture shows the start box from where they start running.
The horses were really close to each other. Horse 5 seemed to place 2nd. But only 100 meters before the finishline horse 5 tried to overtake. It was so exciting, I even held my breath. When they reached the finishline horse 5 was the first to cross it, it won!!!

It was really amazing!! We also won our bet and made 2,50 AUD from it. It is not much money, but it was the experience, the fun, the atmosphere, it was a great day!!
