I am dedicating the proceeds of this post to Faith who was recently rescued from her wicked and demonized madam in Anambra State of Nigeria. Just take a look at this girl but wait until you see her face and condemned hand. I pray that she will pull through this situation and be able to make use of her hand again.
I have just returned from Anambra State, where we went for an official assignment. I heard the story but did not get the full gist until I heard the story from 99.5 FM (WAZOBIA Radio). Now that I have the full detail of the story.

Police are on the trail of Mrs Nkechinyere Bartholomew, the madam accused of inflicting severe injuries and inserting sticks into the private part of her housemaid.
The 12-year-old victim, Faith Nwanja, was released to her madam at the age of eight and they were living in Onitsha in Anambra state.
Thanks to Ms Loveth Odah, the suspect’s sister, who came back with the victim to Ebonyi but The Ebonyi state Police Command had apprehended and detained Miss Chinelo Ngwuta who the police explained, would lead the them to get the principal suspect, Bartholomew.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) explained that the matter would be treated as a case in transit as the state command does not have jurisdiction over the matter because the grievous harm caused on the child was carried out at Anambra state.
Frail looking and badly injured Faith Nwanja, had told NAN that her madam subjected her to serious bodily harm and abuse during the four years she served as her maid.
“My mistress usually inserts sticks inside my vagina, hits me with iron rods, wires and also ties me with chain whenever she is going out.
“My Aunty always use blade to cut my skin", as you can see above.
“These scars, injuries on my head, body and lips were inflicted on me by my Aunty for 4 years, ‘’ Nwanja narrated in her dialect. Take a look at the picture above, and you will agree with me that a woman who could inflict this kind of injury on a child is truly demonized. Take a look at the second picture, to draw your own personal opinion about the culprit and for better appreciation of what the young girl had gone through for the past four years.
We are told that the suspect, Mrs. Bartholomew is at large.
Mrs Ngozi Nwanja, the mother of the victim, said that her daughter was 8 when she was handed over to Mrs. Bartholomew.
However, the Head of Department, Child Development in the state ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, described the degree of injures on the victim as “real damage" and this is worrisome as child brutalization is now on the increase.
The Head of Department, Child Development stated that from all indications Nwanja’s hand is condemned and the extent of the damage to her brain and other parts of her body is not yet known.
It is a pity that an8 year old child who is supposed to be in a primary level of education is given out to live with another family as a house-help. It also serves as a warning to many parents who indulge in giving out their children as house-helps when they were supposed to be in school.
What I keep asking is where were the husbands of these Jezebels, including Mr Bartholomew during these years when all these atrocities were being committed in their homes. Are they accomplices, who allow these things to happen to cover their own dirty tracks, so that the abused children will not expose them. Otherwise how can a woman commit such crime in a home where she lived with a man dictated for so long. If not for her sister who rescued Faith, perhaps, she would have died in that house and nothing would have happened. I suspect Mr. Bartholomew, he should be investigated, too.
Based on the fore-going, I am taking a leap of faith, just as many people took a leap of faith from 2017 - 2018, believing 2017 will be better than 2018, I also believe that my friends and fellow steemians will assist me with their upvotes and support for a widow's mite (contribution) which will go a long way in the rehabilitation and other necessities of life to bring Faith back to normal life and make her feel belonged, too. She needs to understand that all people are not as wicked as her so called aunty.
