This is also why I laugh at people who are afraid to share their idea because "Someone will steal it". If you implement your idea well, you will succeed. If you get outperformed by someone dong the same thing, it's because they did it better than you. You would have failed anyway, even if they hadn't "copied" you. I say that in quotes because whenever someone complains they were copied, there are usually significant differences between the strategies and products that can fully account for why they failed.
