30 Hours trip from Davao City to Surigao Del Sur Philippines

Part 1

Samal Island was glorious. Me and my friend, Elden, had so much fun. But good days were ahead of us, that was certain.

Next stop was our Surigao del Sur adventure. From our resort in Hagimit Falls, we rode a motorcycle going to the Samal port for an early trip to mainland Davao. It took around 40-minutes and cost 100 pesos. The trip from Samal port to mainland Davao, however, was only a 10-minute trip and the fare was only 10 pesos each.

When we reached the Sasa Ferry Terminal, we decided to walk from the port to Poblacion district. It was quite tiresome having to walk 16 kilometers which would take two hours. As we traversed under the scorching heat, a car pulled over. At first we thought the driver stopped to asked for directions or whatever, but instead offered us a ride. Apparently, he was the biker who passed by us a couple of minutes earlier and was surprised to see us still walking while he travels back and forth the city.
His name was Jheryl. He was very helpful, giving us tips on how to get around the city. Too bad we weren’t able to take a snap for some memorabilia.
He dropped us somewhere along China Town. (If you’re reading this, thanks again!)
There, Elden and I grabbed a bite as we were starving as hell. We then decided get a quick rest before our trip to Surigao. It was 10AM in the morning, and our trip was not until 1PM. So, instead of getting a hotel room so as not to spend that much for a just a three-hour rest (and to freshen up as well), we went to a massage parlor. The massage was 250/hour, not bad as we were allowed to take a nap thereafter.

So, from Poblacion, we took a cab going to Ecoland bus terminal. It was a quick ten-minute ride. Unfortunately, we missed the bus going to Bislig. The next trip was scheduled at 6PM. Lucky us, UV Express was available!
It took 5 hours to arrive in Bislig. We checked in at “Sleep Hotel” for two nights for 400 pesos! Yes, you read it right…400 pesos for a double standard room with free breakfast!
The next morning, we traveled to Tinuy-an Falls, hiring a motorcycle yet again. We got a tour package for 1000 pesos, which included a ride to Hinatuan River as well. Not bad, I guess.
The trail to Tinuy-an was majestic. That alone was worth the view.
