What is life?

What is life you might wonder...

To me life is a river full of choices. We follow the tide or swim against it. We need rocks to guide our path, we need to choose a direction when the rivers forks, never knowing what path you would have walked had you made a different choice.

At times the river goes slowly and you can relax and let life carry you, but at times the river is in great turmoil, ever raging, almost drowning you.

But during these times is when you will grow stronger, allowing you to better steer life the way you want it to go. However, no matter how strong you get, you can never influence the river itself, only how you deal with it.

It all boils down to choices and strength. Swim in the direction you want to go, while keeping in mind that the way the river flows is often the path you must take.

Really interesting

Thank you :)

the way the river flows is often the path you must take.

I agree with you. There are times, even though there's a fork, the current brings you into the best path. Sometimes, this path is more treacherous than one would ever choose; however, it's the necessary flow to develop/prepare you for a future bend in the river.

Thanks for sharing. And, btw, Welcome to Steemit!

I agree, nice statement :) Life is funny like that. Usually that path turns your whole life around, sometimes literally.

(sometimes literally)...

So truth!

And, yet I'm reminded that according to Jeremiah 1:5 the One Who created us has a plan. :+)

So, even the topsy-turvies of life are by grand design.

Peace.

Perhaps so... but if that is true, then life isn't truly a river of choice, but rather a river of destiny.

river of destiny

Great observation; and, something I strongly believe, even if it seems to contradict my original statement.

It becomes a case of no matter which path we 'choose'; inevitably we will have to endure/experience an ordained amount of joys and sorrows. In fact, I consider this duo Siamese twins; as ultimately, one will give way to the other in varying degrees.

Thanks for the feedback.

Peace.
