Inspirational Story; Dare to Fail In Life

By the end of 1981, I was not satisfied with the boring patterns of college. I was desperate to leave college life. At that time I thought, that failing to earn a degree does not mean failing in pursuing other ideals. In 1982, I then began to pioneer the business of Primagama test guidance, which later turned into the Primagama Tutoring Agency.

The business I run with a fall up. From a very lonely beginning of interest - only 2 people - until the devotees booming until Primagama can open branches in hundreds of cities, and become the largest learning guidance institution in Indonesia.

In social life, it is a word that is not so good to hear. Failure is not something you like, and an event that everyone does not want. We can not deny ourselves, who obviously still prefer to see successful people instead of seeing people who fail, not even liking those who fail.

So, if you are an entrepreneur who fails in business, then do not expect people will praise you.

Do not expect anybody around you or your relations will understand why you failed. Do not expect you are not to blame. Do not expect all friends to stay around you anyway. Do not expect you will get moral support from other friends.

Do not expect anyone to lend money as a temporary relief. Do not expect banks to lend further.

Why do I paint such a bad picture for a failed entrepreneur? That is how our society tends to praise the successful and the victorious. Conversely, blasphemy is defeated and fails. We should change such a culture, and give everyone a chance at the second opportunity.

In my experience, when people fail, there is no point in being gloomy and thinking of failure. But need to find the cause. And instead we should be more challenged again with the business we are experiencing that experience the failure. I myself prefer to use that failure or negative experience to find new forces in order to achieve success again.

Certainly, cases of failure in business and the world of work, as the economic crisis becomes more and more widespread. Thousands of people are exposed to Termination of Employment (PHK) and loss of eyes
livelihood. It is ironic, just like us, likes or dislikes, every human being will experience various problems, maybe even suffering.

For an entrepreneur, you should not get worse with the condition and atmosphere like that. We must dare to face failure, and just take the wisdom (the incident behind it). It may come to glorify our hearts, to clear our minds from arrogance and pettiness, broaden our horizons, and to bring us closer to God. To teach us to be dashing, when weak. Be brave when we are afraid. That's why I also agree with the opinion of Richard Gere, a leading Hollywood actor, who says that failure is important to any career.

Why is that? Because so many people make the same mistake, considering failure as the enemy of success. Quite the contrary, we should assume that failure can bring results. Remember, we must be sure to find success at the end of failure.

There are several causes of failure itself. First, we often judge ourselves too low. Secondly, every act, we are often affected by the myths that appear in the communities around us. Third, we usually are too "melancholy" and like to convict ourselves first, that we are born with bad luck. Fourth, we tend to still have the attitude, do not want or do not want to know from where we have to restart a business.

By knowing the cause of the failure, of course, will make us sure to be able to overcome them. If we experience nine of the ten things that we do fail, then we should work ten times more active. By having such attitude and thinking, it will still make us as entrepreneurs who are always optimistic about the future. So, we should not like to measure an entrepreneur by counting how many times he fell. But measure how many times he got back up.
