With my car problems over the last few days I had to delve into the Internet to hopefully find a solution. With having a elderly car 13 years old the parts are hard to come by, if you can't get the parts from scrap yards you will have to buy them new which will cost a bit. No scrap yards had the parts we needed so I had to go and email all Nissan sellers.
Thankfully before I started emailing I decided to search via Google with name and product number.
I then found this site. www.1stchoice.co.uk
You can add your registration or make and model, then press continue
On this page you add all your details, you can also add the product number to make sure you get the right product, then click find parts.
You then go to your account where you have 2 choices either to your details or to a page with your requests and quotes.
If you click on Requests and Quotes this will take you the page where there should be a list of sellers who have your part, sometimes they come through straight away depends when you put in the request, I didn't get mine until this morning plus I got a few phone calls from sellers.
You will get phone calls, messages with links to the site plus emails depends how the seller wants to get in touch. The site will send you your log in details.
I found this very easy to use, straight forward and very helpful, I was surprised how many sellers there where, they were all around the same price to, they also tell you postage costs.
If you use this site there is also a page to give feedback to each seller , Then when you have received the part you need you can go remove the request so you get no more notifications.
Thank you @son-of-satire
I love the power of the interweb for stuff like that.
In the old days you have to go to a wrecker's yard or two and just explore the wrecks to see if you could find what you wanted.
We only had one yard in my town, so the chances of finding what you needed were pretty limited. But with this site you have a much better chance of getting the parts you need at a good price.
Hopefully I won't need a site like this for a very long time, since my car is not even a year old yet, but when I do, it's nice to know that these sites exist.
So thanks for sharing this little gem with us ;-)
