I have stayed up tonight, not like me as I'm usually in bed for 9. I stayed up to watch a film with hubby, Indiana Jones I've seen it so many times but still enjoy it. I then watched the end of the Elvis Presley documentery HIS LAST FEW HOURS.
Elvis died August 1977, he was 42 years old, can't believe he has been gone for 42 years I cried for so long when the news was broadcasted, sitting watching it all again, his hearse, the crowds of crying fans, those gates of Graceland, i started crying again.
He made such a massive impact on my life even though he died when i was 13. It got me thinking of other people who have made that kind of impact.
She was an amazing beautiful lady, she was far to good for our royal family. She died August 31 1997, the day after my oldests birthday. I was 6 months pregnant with my youngest when the news was on, i sat and watched it all day Hoping they were wrong. I cried then to and still do every time they have a program about her.
Maybe its just hormones or that time of year. When someone you haven't met, who you only know from wartching TV, reading the paper or listening to there songs makes you cry after being gone for so long, you know they are special to you. The sad thing is i cry over these 2, but have never cried over my own mother dying.
Thank you son-of-satire
Wow. I had no idea that Elvis died on the same month and year that I was born.
I love listening to Elvis.
Princess Diana.... so beautiful and what a beautiful soul.
She was definitely a strong and beautiful role model for all of us and we all loved her, since she made a huge impact on so many.
Have a wonderful weekend @karenb54
