Turning 53 has made me think about what's important. Don't make my mistakes.

My 53 years has bought me much more than just wrinkles and grey hair its brought me knowledge ln what's important and what isn't.

FAMILY
I mean your partner and children. As long as there happy the rest comes in second. They can wait as long as your partner and children are happy.

MONEY
Yes it's nice to have but as long as your bills are paid and there's food in your cupboards and clothes on your back then what else do you need. Material things look nice but if you cant afford to eat or pay your bills then they aren't important.

TIME
Its shocking how fast time fly's by, you don't think of it that monent but looking back you wonder where its gone. Our children grow very quickly so enjoy every single moment

The housework can wait, get out with your family and make memories not just for you but for your children too. These are what they need for when your not here anymore. They don't need memories of you cleaning the house or washing the car.

PHOTOGRAPHS
I wish I had taken a lot more, its so much easier now you have your mobile phone there to catch special moments. Use it, take photos as they turn into memories of special times.

I hate having my photograph taken, i have backed out off so many photos that I now regret as these are memories for your little ones, there are hardly any photos of me when they were growing up, I wish I had jumped in on so many more.

Now we take photographs all the time, i pull faces I have a laugh with them, these are what they will look at when your gone. I used to worry about my hair, my make up etc, these are not important. What made me think was years ago my oldest daughter took a photo of me and her, i thought i looked terrible my daughter thought i looked lovely.

Isn't it amazing how time changes for us? You go from one day saying "I've got time for that" to "Holy Crap, I'm running out of time".

I've earned every one of my wrinkles and marks and grey hairs (ok, and even the hair that looks like skin), and don't mind them a bit. But I am running out of time and can't move near fast enough...

Thanks for a terrific, thought provoking post!.

Thank you for reading. I think we all need a reminder in what's important now and again. Wish i had known years ago :)

you have got it right, Growing up it was all work for the family so they could have what they wanted/needed. Suddenly they are "little old man running" stage. Where did those years go?

Scary how fast they go by, once you hit 40 its full Steam ahead

The grandies move away so you can't play with them as well.

I'm not getting any :(

Try A.I.

Haha ewww

Yes, isn't it funny (and a good thing) that the people who love us see us so differently than we see ourselves.

Its true, my daughter loves that photo :)

It's astonishing how time passes more and more quickly as we get older! I currently have a 5 (nearly 6) year old and a 2 year old. Most days I can't wait for them to grow up so I can have more time to myself, but I know I'll get to that stage and wish I had more time with them. Thank you for the timely reminder.

Don't ever rush it, it needs to slow down. I wish mine were both young again where we could do fun things together. Mine are 25 and 20.

I'm taking this advice to heart, despite the exhaustion! ;)

Plenty time to slow down when your old lol

Awesome advice @karenb54 I know I really need to work on making time to spend with my children. It is so difficult when you are exhausted by full days, but I must do it. Thank you for the reminder.

Def make time it doesn't have to be out doing something, sitting talking to them, reading stories, making stories up having a laugh they all make memories :)

Moving to this new shop will help a lot. I am moving my whole online section to the new shop, so I won't work from home anymore, which frees up my Sundays.

Yay to the future new shop, this could be your year :)

I'm being positive, and I already love the shop! Thank you :)

It sounds brilliant, i have everything crossed for you but know you will make it work :)

excellent work dear friend @ karenb54, invites you to a reflection, the same happens to me, I run away from ls photographs, I take a lot of my family, but mine are counted with the fingers of the hand.
thank you very much for sharing these thoughts

Thank you dear friend for this lovely visit :)

Nice thoughts for today, Karen. I am on the other side of 60. I won't say how far, but its just a number. Things that I thought were important when I was younger really don't matter. They are nothing to what I have now. Take care of your partner always, because you don't know how long you will have them at your side. Love your children and grandchildren to pieces. No ever died from being over loved.

I have nearly lost him once, puts everything into perspective. The time we have together is Precious even the times I want to punch him lol :)

So much wisdom here that is often overlooked. Thank you for sharing friend, hope you and yours are nice and toasty today :)

Time together is precious as it fly's over, don't waste it :)
