Welcome to Lucerne! Where the sky is blue and the tourists have no eye for you!

Need I say more about this snap? Most of the times living in Lucerne is really a sweet place, but on the days where bussloads of tourists are offloaded, you'd better hide. OR sometimes even better, sit on a terrace and observe the scenery!

These days are really an invasion of people, which absolutely have no eye for others walking along them. When I was sitting on my little bench earlier in the week gazing over the lake, a dude came to stand before me at about 20 centimeters away. My eye height was literally at his assheight, and the dude was absolutely inaware that this might be an uncomfortable situation for anyone else.

And it is because of one reason. All these offloaded tourists have one thing in common

They are too occupied with their phones to notice what really is going on around them!

Often the #instahusband is tricked in clearing the scene for the perfect selfie and this will result in that people are actually blocked from walking the roads because of this 1 picture that has to be taken, or it will result in sceneries like the one seen above. I visited Lucerne and all I saw was my phone, but the city is beaaaaaautiful...check my insta!

It really is starting to turn into a weird world coming to think of this, and I also wonder how these people are interacting at home with each other.

Am I being the draggy old whine now, or is this something you recognize as well?

Yeah, one day I went for my regular mail delivery route. I saw two boys sitting with their eyes on their phones. Three hours later I come back the same way and they are still on the same spot with their eyes glued to their phones.

The thing is ofcourse the nice contradiction. As in.... I took this pic with my phone so Im not really a lot better then these ones. But you know what I mean...its weird that the priorities are so shuffled by so many people now....the future dude...for real
(are we seeing us in november?)

Nothing wrong with using that thing, but it sorta gets outta hand when you start to replace the satisfaction from social interaction with using your phone like a short burst dopamine doser.

If you're also going to Thailand, I think so, yes.

Ha! I'm so glad is not only me. I was concerned I am becoming a grumpy person. But it's just because I find this sort of scene genuinely ... disturbing? Not long ago my husband and I went to a restaurant. Not too far from our table there was huge table with a big family at it. Family members of all ages ... ALL of them with their heads down busying themselves with their phone :/

Oh well ...

This is just to know you are not alone on the whining :P

Exactly all of them ! Which means that in this family this is accepted to be a normal situation, which is passed on to the younger ones and so fourth... its too weird for me, but indeed....are we the complainers now :D

I was there yesterday and will be at the hospital tomorrow as well... coffee?

Oee tempting. Dependent on the time and how busy I wil be. Lets stay in touch on it!

People on their devices make for unflattering photos. It is sad that people don’t look around and engage with one another. This photo was in line at a convention. I found friendly conversation with a couple of people but was struck by how quiet and calm everyone was around me.
