Ugh. People are always wasting their freaking time! They don't even see it as valuable. People are always shocked by how I think Because I weigh the time And financial cost of something.
Ultimately if I see an unreasonable hit to my time, I won't do it.
Even if financially it isn't expensive.
We Hate Being Idle
Go to a hospital and watch people.
Watch how long it takes them to pull their phone out and began playing on it.
Part of wasting time is just not being able to handle being idle. We often assume we are more productive that way. But there are a lot of benefits to just sitting still and allowing your mind to wander.
It's one thing if you are productive on your phone. And with apps these days, It's pretty easy. But still, Being idle once in a while is good for you!
You Are Spreading Yourself Too Thin
One thing I've gotten in my head, Is when I hit a high level of exhaustion. It's time to go to bed.
No, Forcing myself to keep working, Won't get more done. Because the sooner I get that sleep, The sooner I can wake up with the maximum brain power to get stuff done.
Society seems to admire those "exhausted" people dying at their desks. But studies have proven that these people aren't as productive.
When you work exhausted, you can't work as fast or as good.
Ignore Distractions
Again it aligns with being idle. I was reading about something that said that whenever we get distracted, we lose 30 minutes of our time, To become fully focused again. That adds up way fast!
Prioritize
Especially when you are overwhelmed. Prioritizing can give you a clear-cut game plan on where to go next with your to-do list. I find myself often procrastinating because I'm not sure what to do next with my time. When I have a list, it makes things much easier. It's funny that we procrastinate when we have so much to do in general.
This is why it's important to decide what is most important to you because you can't always expect to accomplish everything in just one 24 hour period.
that's a really good point! I often go to my phone when I feel bored, and it's hard for me to sit still! I always feel like I need to be on the go. Thanks for the reminder :)

Absolutely agree with you. When I am tired or don't even feel tired but my brain can't concentrate anymore I take a break and if it is bedtime, I will go to bed early, since getting up early in the morning is way more productive.
When I have too many thing to do next day, I always do the most important things even though I dont' want to and then if I can get all things done, great, but if not I will finish tomorrow. I try not to stress out about the little things anymore, not worth it.
I don't like how people waste their energy on the phones. It is killing the humanity. We only get tired from it and then have no time and energy for the important things in life and for the people around us.
Thanks for this straight to point post, always enjoy reading your posts.
Cheers

Doing 10 things at once will take 10 times longer than doing them once at a time. Multitasking is a misconception. We can't think and process two things at the same time, it's a biological impossibility. Multitasking is just switching from focusing on one task to another, but like you say this is just spreading yourself too thin and will end up in exhaustion.
I am a list person myself. Just write up what I have to do and then cross them out one after another. It is more efficient and much less stressful, also it feels like a sense of accomplishment doing it this way, as you set up goals and then you achieve them .

Besides family and health, time is the most important thing that we have. You can't hold the time or make it go slower or faster. Time moves at its own speed.
It's you who have to move and take action instead of procrastinating. If you get distracted, it's ok, get back to where you are and do what is your to-do list.

The best way to prioritize what you REALLY need to get done in one day?
Write down a list of what HAS to get done that day. Number them in terms of priority from 1 to last. It’s usually really that simple.

^ Exactly! Unfortunately society is full of sheep who just don't get it! It really sucks to punch the clock every day and have to see people literally working themselves to death. work smarter not longer

I wish it was so simple. I am currently trying to train myself a bit, work on doing extra bits of work and cutting out procrastination and distractions (a little), in preparation for going into a full time job.
I do have a bad habit of not doing enough work at one time, though not having a job means I have a lot more to use on homework etc. :)

Whipping out that fone and playing with it has become a habit of most people. I myself am guilty of this. But you're right sometimes being idle is a good thing. Especially if you use that time to think and talk with yourself be it with your position in life or just to check with where you are now in life. People tend to hate doing this activity of checking with themselves as they find it too boring or a waste of time.

This is a great post that's absolutely relateable. When I had my first job out of college, I found myself being exhausted all of the time, and priding myself on it. Unfortunately, I wasn't as productive as I'd like to have been. Since then, I've learned how to relax more and make better use of my time!
